Schoonmaker Creek Project Update

There is an open house this Thursday about the Schoonmaker Creek Watershed Flooding Mitigation Project. Click here to read about the status of the project.

From the City of Wauwatosa: Attend the open house on September 12 between 5 – 7 pm at Wauwatosa’s City Hall in the Lower Civic Center. It’s open house style, so you can come at any point in that window. There is no formal presentation. Our staff will be there to walk through the project details and answer your questions. You’ll see that we’ve studied two alternatives for reducing flooding. We’ll present recommendations in October 2024, and we anticipate the Common Council will soon choose one of the alternatives. To be clear, we’re still very early in this process. Project financing has not yet been determined. There will be future meetings on this topic.

PPNA Spring Swag Sale

Get your LIMITED EDITION Est. 1908 Pabst Park T-shirts and sweatshirts. Order by Monday, April 15, 2024, to get your preferred size and color. We will contact you once our friends at Giltee have our order ready in May. Sizes SM – 3XL available. T-shirts are $20 for SM-XL, $22 for 2XL, and $23 for 3XL. Sweatshirts are $30 for SM-XL, $32 for 2XL, and $33 for 3XL.

Why 1908? We uncovered a German-language newspaper advertisement selling lots in Pabst Park in 1908 after the estate of Captain Pabst sold the hops farm land. Check out the ad on our Facebook page here.

Join Our Team

We’re seeking volunteers to share their skills and passion for our community. If you love creating social media posts, hosting fun events, organizing t-shirt and sweatshirt sales, or simply want to help with basic accounting (no prior experience needed!), we have a place for you.

Our leadership team is meeting on Wednesday, January 31st at 6:30pm. If you are available and would just like to check things out with no commitment, just send us an email for location details.

If you have any questions or ideas for a neighborhood event, please email us at pabstpark@gmail.com.

Love Our Neighborhood?

Join our collaborative leadership board. We are looking for volunteers to shadow our current leaders. Our membership coordinator collects online and paper membership forms and manages our membership list. Fall and Halloween is the busy time for this position. You would also coordinate with our Treasurer on membership payments. Our Treasurer balances our checkbook and helps set our budget for events for the year. Again, the busy season is during the fall membership drive. Are you a party planner? Help our events coordinator organize our Happy Hours, Trick-or-Treat, or bring your new ideas for events to neighbors! Just want to share awesome pics of our neighborhood? Join our social media team and create content for Facebook and Instagram. Just fill out this form or email pabstpark@gmail.com to join our team!
