2009-10 Membership Drive

The PPNA membership drive coincides with our most popular event of the year, Nighttime Trick or Treat. The City of Wauwatosa only sets aside daytime hours for Trick or Treat. Thanks to the sponsorship of the neighborhood association we are able to coordinate with the Wauwatosa Police Department to host Nighttime Trick or Treat on October 31st!

Your membership in the PPNA helps support great events like the Nighttime Trick or Treat! Please stop by Washington Elementary School, 67th Street Entrance, on MONDAY OCTOBER 26th from 6pm-8pm to renew your membership or join the PPNA for the first time. Children participating in the Nighttime Trick or Treat event will be given a flashlight to use on the 31st.

If you did not receive a newsletter with membership form, please see our membership page to print a form.

New Board Members Needed

It has been fun, but really, we are done. The new membership year will begin on October 1, 2009 and run through September 30, 2010. We will be sending out a fall newsletter with information about the PPNA Nighttime Trick or Treat. What I would LOVE to be able to include in that fall newsletter is your name as a new PPNA board member!!!! We are looking for a new President, Vice President, and Secretary.

It would be great to get a couple new folks on “board” before the newsletter goes to print to help encourage others to consider joining the new leadership. The PPNA can be whatever you want it to be…currently we organize six major events during the membership year, deliver 2 newsletters per year, maintain a website/blog and communicate with the membership via email instead of monthly meetings.

Just think, YOU could be president! Our fall membership drive is a great place to meet the neighbors and find out who would be willing to help you make the neighborhood association the best it has been yet.

Please contact me with any questions you might have or to take your place on the PPNA board!
Thanks much for your continued support,
Tammy Crouch

Welcome to Pabst Park Dot Com

We here at the Pabst Park Neighborhood Association would like to extend a welcome to you for viewing our sight! We are working hard on trying to find ways to make this site user-friendly, with material that you find relevant and exciting! We’d like to invite you to check out our newest posts, and to send us feedback on how we are doing. Don’t be shy!

If you aren’t already a member, please consider joining. Your membership fee provides the funding that allows us to put on all of our events during the year. What types of events, you may ask? Well, just check the postings below and in our events topic to see the kind of fun you could be having with your neighbors!

While your hear, why don’t you check out the Happenings page and see what is going on in the area?

Are you a local business looking for a way to get some advertising? Join the Pabst Park Neighborhood Association as a business member. This will get you advertising space on our Sponsors page and a mention in each of our three yearly newsletters! Plus, you are welcome to come to our events to meet our members!

Here’s your chance to help….

The summer is flying by…unfortunately the speed of sun and fun has caught your PPNA board off guard. The Summer Picnic was scheduled for the first Sunday in August, but we will not be able to coordinate the event for this year and we are sad to say the picnic will be canceled.

We would also at this time like to make a plea for new board members for the PPNA. The current board was recruited in Fall of 2005 and we have run out of steam. We will coordinate the Halloween Night Time Trick or Treat event for this fall, but would love to have some new board members in place to “train” to take over for the 2009-2010 membership year. We would be looking for a President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer.

There are no requirements for the number of events you coordinate during the membership year. We have found over the past four years that the most well attended events are the Night Time Trick or Treat, Winter TGIF, Egg Hunt, Summer TGIF and Summer Picnic. In an effort to save on printing costs we have scaled back to two paper newsletters per year. We are currently maintaining an email list to keep in contact as well as the website and current events blog to communicate to the community.

Please consider taking the reins of your neighborhood association and be a part of what makes Wauwatosa a great place to live! If you have any questions at all about being a PPNA board member, please contact one of us:

Clean & Green

Grassroots Effort Begins to Blossom
Saturday, June 20th 9am-noon
You probably noticed it this summer while strolling along North Avenue. Bobby Pantuso noticed it. He came to a TETNA meeting and expressed his concern over the abundant crop of weeds and grass overtaking North Avenue’s sidewalks in recent years. He suggested an organized clean-up along North Avenue from 76th Street to 60th Street.
Kick start the summer with this great family activity. Young and old can do their part to make a difference in our community. Bring your brooms, shovels, favorite weeding tools, and the desire to boost pride in North Avenue. The city of Wauwatosa will provide and collect garbage bags.
Who Can Help?
Businesses along North Avenue
Other Neighborhood Associations
School and Church Groups
Environmental Organizations
Civic Groups
If you are interested in volunteering contact Bobby Pantuso at bobby@pantuso.com. Watch for updates on the TETNA website.
