Neighborhood Signs

The City of Wauwatosa wants to partner with Neighborhood Associations on the installation of street signs to identify each of the 29 Neighborhood Associations in Wauwatosa. The PPNA is looking into this program and will be meeting this Saturday, September 19th at 10am at Cranky Al’s to discuss the possibility of PPNA signage. Please join us if you have an interest in this project, questions and/or ideas about anything concerning our new membership year, which will start October 1st. Look for your paper newsletter to be delivered in October and mark your calendar for our Membership Drive, October 26th.

Requirements from the city on signage:

City of Wauwatosa- Neighborhood Sign Guidelines

Must be a registered association
Standard size limited to 24X30- horizontal or vertical- if an exceptionis warranted the City will work with neighborhood association
Must be constructed of .080 inch aluminum and sourced through areputable sign company such as TAPCO
Limited use of red and yellow to minimize competition with trafficsigns
The City reserves the right to approve or reject any designsubmission
No installation fee- Department of Public Works will install a pair ofblack standard brackets
City will work with neighborhoods to determine locations
Sign mounted on existing light poles by City crews only
Signs must be flagged toward the sidewalk
Associations responsible for the initial cost of signs and cost ofreplacing worn or damaged signs.

HuMp DaY Happy Hour

Time to celebrate summer!

The PPNA is hosting a HuMp DaY Happy Hour at Hue on Wednesday, August 19th from 5:30-7:30pm. Appetizers will be provided and Hue will offer drink specials for members. We hope to see lots of new faces. Hue is a PPNA business sponsor, so feel free to check them out before the happy hour for lunch or dinner and support a PPNA sponsor.

This event is free to members. Not a member? We are offering an end of the membership year special to anyone not currently a member of the PPNA. Safety Coordinator Volunteer

The Wauwatosa Police Department is hoping to work with neighborhood associations more closely to help keep Tosa a safe place to live, work and play. Block Watch Captains are assigned to each block in Pabst Park, but not all Block Captains are members of the PPNA. We would love to foster more communication with the PPNA, WPD and Block Watch Captains by having a Safety Coordinator to help get everyone on the same page. The NAC is hosting a Summer Meeting at the TOSA Pool on July 23, 2015 at 6:30pm. The focus is on public safety and the WFD and WPD will be presenting information at this meeting. While anyone is welcome to attend, I would really love to have a volunteer interested in being our PPNA Safety Coordinator attend with me.
