Summer Picnic HURRAHS!

Well, another PPNA summer picnic and again another great time!

The kids didn’t let the heat get them down Thanks to Tim Docter for keeping the sprinkler on, the squirt guns loaded and the buckets full of cool water! The kids were also plenty entertained by our gaming guru Cindy Repetowski and all of her creative games. Thanks a bunch!

The food didn’t melt in the 90 degree weather thanks to Jeff Strothenke’s canopy and Krista Hicks’ great idea of keeping our dishes on ice til the dinner bell was chimed by Rachel Crouch, our goddess of events planner. THANKS ladies for all your hard work. Newcomers to Pabst Park Matt and Christi Dapelo were kind enough to retrieve our main dish from Bunzel’s. Thanks to you for getting the grub!

Thank you to the Wauwatosa Bible Chapel for the use of their restrooms. Thank you to Carl Hicks for the tables and canopy transport! Thanks to Lloyd and Deb Hess for taking most of the trash! Thanks to all the parents who sacrificed and got a little wet helping to fill up those squirt guns! Thanks to everyone for all of the delicious food we shared!

Thanks to Alan and Kate Stramowski for letting us fill our water and lemonade jugs and for letting us use every kilowatt of electricity for our band with NO NAME.

Thanks to the band with NO NAME, Todd Kemper of 66th Street, Dan Kassees of the country, Mark Crouch of 66th Street and Scott Crouch of 66th Street(no relation, really). You guys rocked and next year we want to hear FEARLESS.

I am certain that I forgot to thank someone, so I will apologize here, SORRY.

I would love to see some posted comments on your favorite part of the Summer Picnic 2006 and remember any negative comments will earn you the right to plan next year’s picnic!

Thank you!

JUNE MEETING

Pabst Park Gardening Tuesday June 6th
with resident Master Gardener Kate Stramowski

DO YOU HAVE A GREEN THUMB OR DO YOU WISH YOU HAD A GREEN THUMB?

Join the Pabst Park Garden Club that is being resurrected just in time for spring! I am looking for people interested in all types of gardening and willing to inject some life into our neighborhood! I’m thinking a 2006 “Extreme Garden Make-over”, a kids’ garden project, winter interest gardens, garden party events, quarterly meetings with invited speakers, etc. I have been invited to speak at the PPNA meeting on June 6th and would be thrilled to see a lot of friendly faces ready to talk “garden stuff”. I plan to present information about butterfly gardens and will also have a kid’s project to keep the little hands busy! So, bring the kids and dress them to get dirty! There will be a special surprise gift for all who commit to a wonderful season of gardening in our beautiful PPNA!

Call or e-mail me in advance if you are ready and able to take on this exciting garden club!
