Summer TGIF!

TGIF at Cranky Al’s
Friday June 19th
ON THE PATIO
5:30pm-‘til Al gets too cranky!
The PPNA will supply some Cranky snacks.
Bring your wallets to purchase beer and wine from Al and Susie.
Tell your neighbors and PPNA friends and let’s get this summer started.
Oh yeah, if the weather isn’t so summer-like, Al said we can move it inside.

Music Lovin’ Volunteers Needed

The Tosa Tonight Series is looking for volunteers. This could be a great opportunity for neighbors to get together and serve in the community.

Is anyone interested in heading up a group from Pabst Park to volunteer at a show? I am happy to forward along any requests if someone wants to head up a Tosa Tonight Volunteer Committee!

Tosa Tonight Summer Concert Series 2009 – WE NEED YOU! (Yes, summer is almost here!)
The fun, free, and fabulous Tosa Tonight Summer Concert series kicks off its 2009 season in the inaugural year of the Rotary Performance Pavilion on June 24th. For over a decade many people have given of their time, talent and treasure to make a permanent band shell a reality, and now the Pavilion will be used for the first time this summer. The Tosa Tonight concerts are organized to raise money and heighten awareness for the expanding City of Wauwatosa Hart Park.
Performance dates for the 2009 series are June 24th (The Empty Suits and Swing Nouveau), July 15th (Marc Ballini and Stealin’ Strings), August 4th – National Night Out (5 Card Studs ), and August 12th (The Screaming Orphans and Gaelic Storm). Performances begin at 5:30 and end at 9:00PM.
The continuation of the free concert series depends heavily on money raised through donations as well as through profits made at each concert. Volunteers are needed to make these concerts successful. Therefore The Tosa Tonight Committee asks for your help (Neighborhood Associations – please pass this along to your members!!) Volunteers are needed at the Leff’s Lucky Towne tent to assist with food/beverages. Shifts for volunteering run 5:30 – 7:30 and/or 7:00 – 9:00. All four concerts this year will take place at the Rotary Performance Pavilion (Hart Park between 68th and 70th Streets off of State Street.)
If you can offer your time or have questions about the concerts or donating, please contact Mara Henningsen at 414-453-2848 or maraminx@wi.rr.com. I also ask that you forward this request to your friends and neighbors as volunteers are the cornerstone of making these free performances a reality.

What: Meet and Greet with the Washington Senior Kindergarten Teachers

There will be math and literacy activities set up for you and your child to explore. You will also have the opportunity to talk with the teachers and ask any questions that you may have. Cookies and juice will be provided! Come see for yourself what a wonderful school Washington is!

When: Wednesday, May 27th from 5pm-6pm

Where: Washington Elementary School in Rm. 14

Who should attend: Children who are new to Washington or who have not yet enrolled.

PPNA Neighborhood Rummage

The neighborhood wide rummage is:
Friday May 15th and Saturday May 16th
8am to 4pm
Stroll the Pabst Park area from 60th to 68th Streets between North Ave and Lloyd Ave to find everything your heart desires, or at least a new to you book, flour sifter or bike! Flyers listing all participants will be available at 2245 North 65th as of Friday morning.
