Egg Hunt
Thanks so much to those who braved the threatening rain clouds and chilly temps to grab some eggs! Our PPNA bunny was snuggly warm and full of hugs to help keep the kids warm!
Since the weather is not going to cooperate, the egg “hunt” will be an egg give away. Please come to Washington near 67th and Garfield to collect some filled eggs for the kiddies. You can take them home and have your own indoor egg hunt!
Join us for this great family event. The PPNA Easter Bunny will be on hand to help kids search for eggs, so make sure to bring your cameras. It’ll be a HOPPIN’ good time! This is a members only event. If you are not a current member, please visit our Membership Page to print a membership form. Mail the form to Jenny Foshag with your payment or bring form and payment along the day of the Egg Hunt.
This will be a rain or shine event. If the weather is not cooperating at 1pm, it will be more of an egg give-away instead of a hunt!
Bag It
Widespread use of single use disposable bags in our culture is a very pervasive problem. In this country, we use and estimated 190,000 disposable bags per second requiring 12 million barrels of oil each year. Most of these bags go into landfills where they can last many hundred years. Why should something that we’re going to use for a few minutes use a material that’s going to last up to 1000 years?
A major concern is environmental impact. Discarded bags clutter our landscape and pollute out waterways. Over 100,000 marine animals and 1 million seabirds die each year from ingesting or getting entangled in long lasting discarded plastic.
To respond to this concern we have developed a program in Wauwatosa called Tosa Bag It. Our first effort will be public education to help people understand the plastic bag problem. We are showing the highly acclaimed movie “Bag It” at the Rosebud Theatre Saturday, April 5 at 10:30 am. This film has been very effective in presenting the plastic bag problem. Come and bring your friends and neighbors.
