Sadly, the PPNA Board has decided to cancel the traditional Nighttime Trick-or-Treat Event for 2020. It was a difficult choice, but given recommendations from the Wauwatosa Health Department and CDC, the board could not see a safe way to sponsor an event of this size. It truly breaks our hearts, as we know neighbors look forward to this event each year. 💔 While we encourage everyone to join the PPNA if possible, we understand that in these challenging times membership dues might not be in your budget. Since we cannot host our traditional Trick-or-Treat, we have put together Treat Bags for our Pabst Park kiddos! You can reserve treat bags for kids in your household by emailing pabstpark@gmail.com with your name, address and quantity of bags requested. Pick up will be Wednesday, October 28. Details will be shared with those who request a bag via email.
Here’s what Halloween in Pabst Park will look like in 2020:
🎃 The PPNA will still hold its Membership Drive and families who join can request Treat Bags for the children in their household. While the PPNA does have a modest budget for treats, anyone who is interested in donating trinkets or candy to these treat bags can email pabstpark@gmail.com to coordinate their donation. Watch for your Fall Newsletter and Membership Form to be hand delivered in the coming weeks. Or, join now at PabstPark.com.
👻 We are encouraging households who have outdoor Halloween decorations to notify us in the comments below or email us to be added to a Pabst Park Halloween Walking Tour map. Put those costumes on and take a walk through the neighborhood to get in the Halloween spirit during the month of October!
🦹♀️ We would still L🎃VE to see all those creative costumes and your Halloween decorations, so please tag the Pabst Park Neighborhood Association in your social media photos. If you prefer to share more privately, please request access to our private Pabst Park Neighborhood Group on Facebook.
📆 You can still apply for Block Party Permits per the City of Wauwatosa for groups of 50 or less. Your block is welcome to coordinate a smaller, safe event to celebrate Halloween. Applications must be received 3 weeks in advance, which would make the deadline October 10 for an October 31 party. The application can be found here: https://www.wauwatosa.net/government/departments/police/community-programs/special-events-block-parties
Our wish for everyone in Pabst Park is that you all remain safe and healthy! Try not to focus on events we have lost this year, but try to find a creative way to bring joy to your neighbors in these challenging times!
